BEHIND THE SCENES
At the Race in Dallas
Vuse and Arrow McLaren SP keep the inspiration flowing at the races in Texas May 1 and May 2 with Dallas Fort Worth artist Chris Joseph Gonzalez. Art and racing collide trackside as Chris paints a replica Arrow McLaren SP race car live on Saturday and Sunday. Chris’ design will showcase his signature style of black and white contrasted by bold coloring representing the excitement felt on the track. After the engines are cut and the adrenaline begins to fade, what’s underneath is the culture represented by a tear in the color filled with words the racing community can relate to.
Racing in St. Pete
Get fired up for the 2021 season because Vuse and Arrow McLaren SP have pulled out all the stops. Catch up on all the action, from thrilling laps around the track to the eye-catching local art from around the country.
The worlds of racing and art already pack plenty of inspiration, but have never been brought together like this. Right as the racing season began, we launched the Vuse Design Challenge, a one-of-a-kind opportunity to inspire the design of a real Race Car. In the challenge, age 25+ tobacco consumers who are artists and racing fans submit original artwork on vuse.com/design for a chance to win. The winner will get to see the design inspired by their art featured on the No.7 Vuse Arrow McLaren SP Racecar, live and on the track in Nashville, TN during the big race weekend in August.
But that’s not the only way we’re shifting inspiration into high gear. During the Streets of St. Petersburg race, we tapped two local artists, Ya La’ford and Jerry Cahill who will each create their own two art installations at the Tampa Convention Center. Both artists will draw inspiration from the Tampa/St. Pete area and even use recycled materials from the race team in the artwork, displaying true craft and originality. We will be donating the artwork to a local nonprofit arts organization to support the art community in the area.
And if that wasn’t enough art action for you, Ya La’ford also took her art skills trackside in St. Petersburg to bring her vision to life on a replica of the actual race car. This immersive experience will live inside our "The Ultimate Pit Stop" for 21+ fans. That’s our kind of car show.
With all this incredible talent and endless inspiration, nothing can slow down local art—we’re just proud to help it stay on track. Whether we’re talking fast cars or art canvases, you can bet that Vuse and AMSP will keep driving the creative conversation forward.
